Die neue RWS P 25 "Rapid Fire" im Kaliber .22 long rifle verursacht weniger Rückstoß und Lauf-Verschmutzungen als vergleichbare KK-Patronen. Dennoch können sich OSP-Schützen auf eine ausgezeichnete Präzision und auf die sichere Einhaltung der im Regelwerk vorgeschriebenen Mindestgeschwindigkeit verlassen.
In der olympischen Schießdisziplin Schnellfeuerpistole (OSP) müssen die verwendeten Kleinkaliberpatronen besondere Eigenschaften aufweisen: Wie bei der Schwester Sportpistole ist nur das Kaliber .22 long rifle gestattet, aber die OSP-Patronen müssen mit einer Mindestgeschwindigkeit von 250 Metern pro Sekunde durch die Messanlage fliegen, ausgehend von einem Geschossgewicht von 2,6 Gramm (40gr).
